CANiK's METE MC9 earns the best concealed carry pistol of the year award at The Industry Choice Awards - ICA 2023, one of the US firearms industry's notable honors. Following their previous pistol of the year win with SFx RIVAL-S, CANiK adds its second US award this year.
Reflecting on their dual achievements, CANiK's CEO, Cahit Utku Aral, shared his thoughts:
"We've brought substantial value to our defense industry through this achievement. Securing two awards from ICA this year brings us immense joy," remarked CANiK's CEO, Cahit Utku Aral. "ICA operates as an organization that doesn't include firms as members or sponsors, and evaluations of firearms often occur without firms being aware. The recognition of two of our products as Pistols of the Year in distinct categories at this event symbolizes our ongoing success in the firearms market. I am confident that this accomplishment has enriched our defense industry's portfolio."
A subsidiary of Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS), CANiK, a prominent global light arms producer, secured the Pistol of the Year accolade in 2017 for TP9 SFx, in 2019 for TP9 ELITE COMBAT, in 2020 for TP9 ELITE SC, and in 2022 for SFx RIVAL.
METE Series' Specially Designed Component
CANiK secured the concealed carry pistol of the year award at the event with its specially designed 28mm METE series member, the METE MC9. Previously, CANiK had claimed the same award in 2020 with the TP9 ELITE SC model. The METE MC9, reshaping the micro-compact category with its sleek design and high-capacity magazine, accommodates all optical sights (excluding Trijicon RMRcc). Featuring a "co-witness" capability, the METE MC9 allows simultaneous use of both optical and iron sights.
CANiK METE MC9
The METE MC9 model, encompassing the advanced attributes of the METE series, provides exceptional comfort for carrying due to its uniquely designed 28mm member within the METE series.
Revolutionizing the micro-compact category through its sleek design and high-capacity magazine architecture, the METE MC9 supports the use of all optical sights applicable within the series. Notably, the METE MC9 holds the title of being the inaugural micro-compact pistol in the METE series.
After undergoing various internal and cosmetic modifications, the METE MC9 is chambered in 9x19mm and is available with capacities of 12+1 and 15+1 rounds. It boasts a compact profile with a total length of 155mm, a width of 28.5mm, and a height of 115mm (including the magazine). The barrel measures 81mm, and the pistol's unloaded weight is a mere 603g.
CANiK introduced the METE MC9 to the public for the first time during the 45th annual SHOT Show, a prominent Hunting and Shooting Fair held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 17th to 20th.
