At the IDPA World Championship, which was held in the USA and where the best 370 shooters competed, the owner of the trophy was CANiK's successful athlete captain Nils Jonasson. Another athlete of the CANiK team, Alperen Kıvılcım, successfully represented Türkiye in the tournament by completing the championship 12th in his category.
CANiK, the world's leading manufacturer of light and medium caliber weapons, has brought another trophy to Türkiye in the field of sports shooting.
The CANiK Sports Shooting Team, which has taken home the trophy in many international tournaments it has participated in before, returned with significant success from the IDPA World Championship 2023 in America, which is held every four years and is known as one of the two biggest sports shooting competitions in the world.
IDPA World Championship
In the tournament held in Talladega/Alabama on October 12-14, 2023 this year, CANiK Team Captain Nils Jonasson won the SSP (Stock Service Pistol) category, which includes the best shooters in the world, leaving behind JJ RACAZA and Sal LUNA. In the competition, which consisted of 15 challenging stages, Nils also took first place in the IRON SIGHT category. At the same time, Nils Jonasson competed with CANiK's award-winning pistol SFx RIVAL-S in the SSP category, where factory pistol models also competed and therefore the whole world arms industry closely followed. Thus, CANiK proved its success to the world not only with its athletes, but also with its products with one hundred percent domestic and national technology.
At the IDPA World Championships, the best 395 shooters selected as a result of the qualifiers among more than 600 elite shooters participated in the competition, and only 370 competitors were able to complete 15 challenging stages. Alperen Kıvılcım, who previously made a name for himself with the Turkish and Indonesian championships, made his mark in the top 12 in his category and the top 25 among all athletes in the IDPA World Championship, which he participated in for the first time.
