Boxer Infantry Fighting Vehicle and more from Rheinmetall in DSEI2023

Rheinmetall will display Boxer Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) and Boxer Skyranger variants on its stand at DSEI2023. With the objective to re-vitalise the UK’s land capability, a key part of the company’s commitment to the Ministry of Defence and the Land Industrial Strategy, they have vested comprehensive engineering and manufacturing knowledge into Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) and the UK Supply chain.

The Rheinmetall Boxer IFV integrates the company’s LANCE 30mm manned turret, already demonstrating high levels of technical maturity in service with the Australian Defence Force as part of their LAND400 Phase 2 Boxer programme. The LANCE turret integrates latest generation sighting systems for Commander and Gunner into a fully digitised and fully stabilised turret system.

The Boxer Skyranger system is a mobile Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) system, which can be deployed against air targets at short range, very short range and against ground targets, complimenting missile-based air defence. This is based upon the already proven Boxer Drive and Mission Module design, coupled with a Skyranger turret. There are two Skyranger variants, incorporating a 30mm or a 35mm Oerlikon Revolver Cannon, both with air burst ammunition.

The production of Boxer IFV and Boxer Skyranger has the potential to generates a further 280 direct, highly-skilled jobs in Rheinmetall’s UK business, as well as 500 jobs in the supply chain.

The Boxer IFV and Boxer Skyranger will be displayed at the company’s stand H5-110 in the South Hall at DSEI.
