Canada based private jet manufacturer Bombardier eyes Middle East expansion for maintenance and overhaul.
Mark Masluch, Director of Communications for Bombardier told Defensehere their Challenger and Global aircraft families were among the most respected and most sold business jet families across the world. Masluch said they are currently promoting Global 7500 in Middle East “as a standard VIP aircraft, but also it's available for conversion to a head of state VIP transport.”
Masluch emphasized the importance of Middle East for Bombardier’s goals of expansion, especially regarding the expansion of its service network. Expressing pride in UAE’s GlobalEye aircraft being based on Bombardier’s Global 6000, Masluch presented Bombardier’s goal in the Middle East as “to make sure that all aircraft can be serviced and overhauled directly in the region in Bombardier infrastructure.”
As part of Bombardier’s plans for expansion in Middle East, the company broke ground on a service center in Abu Dhabi in late 2022. Planned on opening in 2025, the service center is around 100,000 sq ft with a capacity to fit up to four Global 7500 aircraft.
Masluch explained that Bombardier has “a strong sales team that has been based in the region really for decades, but now it's about building that infrastructure more. Our planes obviously, in terms of modifying, we're very flexible. Bombardier defense is really about being extremely flexible on engineering, extremely flexible on modifications and really offering customers what they want.”
Bombardier is willing to “work with whichever government we partner with to find the right solutions for their local economies as well as their capabilities” noted Masluch.
