Bayraktar KIZILELMA successfully completes medium altitude system identification test

Bayraktar KIZILELMA unmanned combat aircraft, developed by Baykar Technologies, successfully completed the Medium Altitude System Identification test.

Bayraktar KIZILELMA’s tests in the sky continue. In this context, Turkey’s first unmanned fighter jet made its third flight at the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu, Tekirdağ. In the third flight conducted under the management of Baykar Chairman of the Board and Technology Leader Selçuk Bayraktar, Bayraktar KIZILELMA successfully completed the Medium Altitude System Identification Test by ascending to an altitude of 20,000 feet. As a chase plane, Bayraktar AKINCI recorded Bayraktar KIZILELMA in the sky during the flight test.

“WE ARE TARGETING MASS PRODUCTION IN 2024”

Baykar Chairman of the Board and Technology Leader Selçuk Bayraktar made a statement about the flight after the successful completion of the test: “Bayraktar KIZILELMA successfully completed the system identification test at medium altitude. This was the third test we performed. From now on, many tests will continue as part of our development activities. Hopefully, at the beginning of 2024, we aim to start the mass production of KIZILELMA. In addition, we are preparing for the first flight of Bayraktar TB3, which will be the world’s first UCAV capable of landing and taking off from ships with short runways, whose first flight we are eagerly awaiting. Good luck to all these developments for our country and our nation.”

“BAYRAKTAR TB3 AND KIZILELMA AT TEKNOFEST”

Selçuk Bayraktar invited all of Turkey to TEKNOFEST: “Bayraktar TB3 and Bayraktar KIZILELMA will hopefully meet our nation at TEKNOFEST, which will take place between April 27 and May 1 in Istanbul. We invite our entire nation to TEKNOFEST, Istanbul, Atatürk Airport, which is the center of the National Technology Move, where the heart of technology beats.”

FLYING IN RECORD TIME

Baykar announced the Bayraktar KIZILELMA project in 2021. Bayraktar KIZILELMA, with tail number TC-ÖZB, which came off the production line on November 14, 2022, was transferred to AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu. After successfully completing the ground tests here, it made its first flight on 14 December 2022. It successfully completed the System Identification Test with its second flight on January 23, 2022.

LANDING AND TAKING OFF OF SHIPS WITH SHORT-RUNWAYS

Bayraktar KIZILELMA will be a platform that will revolutionize the battlefield with its landing and take-off capability, especially for ships with short runways. Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which has been developed to have the ability to land and take off on short-runway ships such as the TCG Anadolu, will play an important role in overseas missions thanks to this capability.

LOW RADAR CROSS-SECTION

Bayraktar KIZILELMA will successfully accomplish the most challenging missions thanks to its low radar cross-section. Turkey’s first unmanned fighter aircraft, which is aimed to have a take-off weight of 6 tons, will use all domestically developed munitions and will be a great power multiplier with a planned 1500 kilogram payload capacity. The unmanned fighter aircraft will also have high situational awareness with the use of a domestically developed AESA radar.
