Airbus Helicopters will deploy full-flight H160/H175 simulators in Brazil by 2028 to support training requirements for Latin America’s energy sector. The simulators will feature:
- Level D certification (the highest qualification standard)
- ANAC (Brazilian civil aviation authority) approval
- Latest Helionix avionics configuration matching production aircraft
- OEM data packages for accurate flight modeling
Romain Trapp, Executive Vice President of Customer Support & Services at Airbus Helicopters, stated: “Our customers spoke and we listened. We are extremely proud to reinforce our commitment to the Latin America region with the planned introduction of these full flight H160/H175 simulators, providing our customers with enhanced training capabilities closer to home. By staying close to our customers, we are not only supporting their operational needs and helping boost their growth trajectories, but also strengthening aviation safety across the region.”
The new simulators will expand the existing Airbus Helicopters Simulation Academy in Rio de Janeiro, operational since 2015, which has delivered:
- 7,500 simulation hours
- Training for nearly 600 students
Market projections indicate demand for over 40 new medium helicopters in Latin America’s energy sector within the next decade – doubling the current regional fleet.
Concurrent developments include:
- First North American H160 simulator entering service in Grand Prairie, Texas (2026)
- Potential future simulator deployments in Asia and Australia
