Airbus Helicopters concluded VERTICON 2025 with commitments for 118 helicopters, including 63 firm orders from global customers. The event featured agreements for a range of multi-mission helicopters.
A significant portion of the commitments—more than 74—were for the newly introduced H140, a light twin-engine helicopter. The H140 is expected to enter service first in emergency medical operations. Several major helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) providers in the U.S. and Europe, including Global Medical Response, ADAC Luftrettung, ÖAMTC Flugrettung, Air Methods, Stat MedEvac, Metro Aviation, and DRF Luftrettung, signed agreements for the aircraft.
The H160 has commenced offshore commercial operations with PHI Aviation for Shell following a route-proving program. Brazilian operator Omni signed an HCare contract in preparation for Petrobras operations. Additionally, the New York State Police announced an order for one H160 and three H145 helicopters, making it the first law enforcement agency in the U.S. to operate the H160.
In the support and services sector, Westair Helicopters signed an HCare contract to support its H225 fleet for offshore energy operations in Namibia. China-based operator GDAT signed an HCare In-Service contract covering ten H225 helicopters used for emergency services and forest protection.
During the event, Airbus Helicopters conducted demonstration flights with an H175, H160, H145, and an H125 IFR aircraft, all utilizing 30% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to integrate SAF into operations.
