Diehl Defence has completed a two-week test phase with the German Armed Forces and several industry partners, assessing new technologies aimed at enhancing the operational readiness of Germany’s land forces. The trials focused on Team Ziesel’s unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) and its integration with battlefield systems.

During the trials, the Ziesel platform demonstrated multiple capabilities including tele-operated and waypoint navigation in both day and night conditions, use of a more powerful GNSS-jamming-resistant CRPA antenna, and integration with the SitaWare Frontline battlefield management system for UGV control. Additional evaluations included loading the platform onto NH90 helicopters, reconnaissance with unmanned aerial systems, and casualty evacuation (CasEvac) deployment.

Diehl Defence reported that the tests produced positive results and that direct interaction with soldiers provided valuable feedback. The company stated that the findings from this phase will now be incorporated into the ongoing development of its unmanned systems.
