Brazilian defense giant and one of the world’s largest aerospace manufacturers, Embraer, introduces a light attack aircraft for NATO members.
In interview with defensehere.com, the CEO of Embraer Defense and Security, Mr. Bosco Da Costa Junior, he gave a glimpse of what is the Brazilian defense giant doing in 2023.
Talking about the MoU recently signed between the Embraer and the Swedish defense manufacturer SAAB, Bosco mentioned that they are looking forward to cooperating with the latter to sell C-390 in some countries including Sweden and also to work on developing advanced technologies revolving around fighter aircrafts.
Bosco also mentioned that they have launched a new configuration of their A-29 Super Tucano light attack airplane and he said “we are looking forward to launch A29 N; it means that we're going to put A-29 in the NATO community. So we are so exciting to offer to this community, to NATO community, this solution that will bring new capabilities to them”.
The new version of the aircraft, the A-29N, will include equipment and features to fulfill NATO's operational requirements, such as a new datalink and single-pilot operation.
He also talked about markets of interest for Embraer where he underlined the middle east region, saying “We have our office in Dubai since 2009. So we we see this region, the Middle East region, as a very important region for and very strategic region for Embraer”. He also stated that Embraer is seeking to enhance its partnerships with the countries of the region and help them localize technologies, adding “we are looking for to to offer our solutions to Saudi Arabia and to the Emirates as well”.
Finally, Bosco stated that Embraer will be present in booth RIAT and Paris Airshow in 2023, where it will be waiting to meet its clients, visitors, and potential customers.
