Saudi Arabia will buy 121 aircraft from US aircraft manufacturer Boeing worth $37 billion.
White House Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre released a written statement regarding the purchase of 787 Dreamliner type aircraft from Boeing by Saudi Arabia.
Noting that last month, Boeing completed the second largest commercial transaction in history with more than 200 aircraft sold to support the expansion of Air India's commercial fleet, Jean-Pierre announced today that two agreements were signed with Saudi Arabia on the sale of aircraft.
Jean-Pierre announced that Boeing signed two agreements with Saudi Arabia to produce 121 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft equipped with GENex engines, valued at $37 billion.
"Boeing completed the two largest transactions in company history within weeks." Jean-Pierre emphasized that these agreements will contribute to the jobs of more than one million Americans in the aviation supply chain in 44 states.
Jean-Pierre pointed out that the agreements with Saudi Arabia will offer more than 140,000 jobs, most of which do not require a four-year university degree.
"We are particularly pleased that Boeing has finally been able to finalize these agreements with Saudi Arabia after years of negotiations and intense negotiations in recent months." Jean-Pierre said that this partnership is another "turning point" in the 80-year cooperation between the US and Saudi Arabian industries.
