Argentine Army utilizes ASELSAN's radar, EW tech

The Argentine Army has integrated Turkish defense giant ASELSAN's domestically-produced Land Surveillance Radar ACAR-K and IHASAVAR Anti-Drone Jammer Systems into its operations.

According to a post on the Argentine Army's official X account, a training session was conducted on the operation and maintenance of anti-aircraft artillery systems, where ASELSAN's radar and electronic warfare technologies were also highlighted.

Ahmet Akyol, General Manager of ASELSAN also confirmed the information on his X account, formerly Twitter.

“ASELSAN's radar and electronic warfare technologies are actively supporting the Argentine Army,” he wrote.

ACAR Surveillance Radar

ACAR is a state-of-the-art radar system designed to detect, track, and classify moving targets across both land and sea surfaces, while also serving as an artillery fire control tool. It features interfaces that facilitate seamless integration with command and control systems, enabling its deployment in diverse surveillance applications such as border security, sensitive area protection, and homeland security.

Developed as ASELSAN's third generation surveillance radar, ACAR incorporates extensive feedback from operators of ASELSAN's previous radar systems, over 200 units of which have been produced since the 1990s. The radar has been enhanced with the latest operational capabilities, ensuring optimal performance. Its solid-state design contributes to its compactness and light weight, while its flexible interface allows for deployment on tripods, vehicles, or integration into tower/mast platforms, adapting to varying operational needs.

IHASAVAR Anti-Drone System

Drones and mini-unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) pose significant threats through activities such as reconnaissance, espionage, harassment, armed attacks, and bombings.

The IHASAVARTM Anti-Drone RF Jamming and Blinding System by ASELSAN effectively counters these threats by preventing drones and mini-UAVs from operating in proximity to critical locations such as military facilities, government buildings, official residences, ceremonial areas, guard posts, and checkpoints through active jamming.

IHASAVARTM achieves this by simultaneously jamming all remote command, GPS/GLONASS satellite navigation, data, and image transfer frequencies used by drones and mini-UAVs. This capability ensures comprehensive protection against potential drone-related risks.

Equipped with rechargeable, high-capacity Li-Ion batteries, the system can sustain non-stop operation for at least 1.5 hours, providing continuous security coverage without interruption.
