Swedish defense and aerospace company Saab has been recognized as the most sustainable aerospace and defense company globally, according to a new ranking published by TIME Magazine and Statista.
According to a statement released by the company, Saab ranked 42nd overall on the “World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026” list, which evaluated more than 5,000 companies across various global industries.
The company noted that the ranking reflects its ongoing efforts to integrate environmental and sustainable practices into its industrial operations. Among the operational changes highlighted by Saab were the introduction of biogas boilers at its facilities and the implementation of a revised supplier code of conduct aimed at ensuring sustainable practices throughout its supply chain.
“We launched the ambition to be a sustainability leader within our industry a little more than 3 years ago,” said Viktor Wallström, Saab’s Head of Communication and Sustainability. “It was an ambitious goal, but this result shows what can happen when many people pull in the same direction over several years.”
Wallström added that while the company acknowledges the achievement, it remains focused on continuing its sustainability initiatives within the defense sector.
