The Government of Argentina has requested to purchase four UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters from the United States, according to the U.S. Department of State. With the possible sale approved, the principal contractor will be Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin and the developer of the Black Hawk.
The proposed sale also includes two T700-GE-701D engines and associated equipment, spare parts, training, and logistical support. The estimated total cost is $140 million.
Last year, Sikorsky converted the Black Hawk into a fully autonomous unmanned system known as the S-70UAS U-Hawk. The redesigned aircraft provides 25% more cargo capacity and integrates Sikorsky’s MATRIX autonomy technology for operator-controlled flight.
