Navantia showcases naval autonomous defence system at NATO’s REPMUS 2026 exercise

Spanish defense-tech company Navantia has demonstrated the integration of 23 unmanned vehicles into its next-generation digital architecture SCOMBA NG at the annual REPMUS 2026 exercise.

The company said on social media that its Advanced Integrated Naval Autonomous Defense System (NAIAD) has been deployed as an SCOMBA NG service through the SCOMBA Extension Module (MES). According to the statement, this approach “enables capabilities to be developed, deployed, and updated independently, accelerating the integration of new functionalities and reducing the time needed to bring them to the fleet.”

NAIAD enables mission planning, remote platform supervision, and information exchange between ships and allies. By connecting sensors, mission systems, command centers, and unmanned platforms through a common architecture, Navantia is laying the foundations for a future naval combat cloud.

During REPMUS 2026, Indra Group also conducted an initial proof of concept for its NIMBUS combat cloud solution in the naval domain.
