Australian engineering company ECLIPS Engineering has opened a new office in Ankara as part of an international expansion strategy, positioning Türkiye as a base for defense, logistics and energy-sector projects across the region.
The company opened its ECLIPS International Türkiye office at a ceremony attended by government officials, diplomats, military attachés and representatives from the defense industry.
For ECLIPS Engineering, entering Türkiye is about more than opening another office. The Australian defense engineering company sees the country as a potential hub from which it can support the Turkish defense ecosystem while expanding into neighboring markets across the Middle East, Balkans, Eastern Europe and North Africa.
Speaking to Defensehere during the official opening of ECLIPS Engineering’s new office in Ankara, CEO Steve Scott said the company chose Türkiye after assessing several potential international markets and identifying an opportunity to complement the country’s rapidly developed defense and technology capabilities.
ECLIPS develops container-based intermodal infrastructure, integrated logistics platforms and specialized engineering solutions. The company said its Ankara operation will work with Turkish industry and engineering companies, with localization and local production forming a central part of its plans.
One of the first technologies planned for local production is ECLIPS’ CROSS (Container Roll Out Solar System), a containerized solar-energy system designed to provide renewable power to mobile and deployable systems in field environments. The company said CROSS will be produced with the involvement of Turkish engineers.
ECLIPS also plans to market its EARS (Enhanced Artillery Resupply System) from Ankara to regional customers. The company describes EARS as a logistics system designed to reduce artillery ammunition resupply times to less than three minutes.
Beyond defense, the company said its Turkish operation will pursue engineering and logistics projects linked to energy corridors, pipelines, oil and natural gas infrastructure and mining.
Scott said the company viewed Türkiye as more than an export market and intended to develop partnerships with Turkish companies in local manufacturing, integration and supply-chain development. He said Ankara would serve as a platform for opportunities in the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, the Balkans and neighboring markets.
The company said the Ankara operation is intended to become a regional capability and technology center, combining ECLIPS’ engineering expertise with Türkiye’s industrial and manufacturing base.
The establishment of the Ankara office comes as Türkiye continues to attract international defense and engineering companies seeking access to its manufacturing ecosystem and markets across Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.
